Disclaimer: I don’t own Marvel, But who cares anyway? If I did own the X-Men, the show wouldn’t be cancelled! Down with Marvel, Fear me! The all powerful writer of fanfics! (okay, is this really the time for a tangent? No. Stay focused Mel!)
A.N.) This fic has a song that I promise you’ve never heard before. How would I know that? Because I wrote the song just for this fic! (Wrote it at midnight too!) Okay, songfic #3’s another Romy. *blushes* (I can’t help myself! I think I’m obsessed now.) Hope you like it!
It was a cool spring morning and Rogue was outside playing her guitar. It was the weekend and she was the only one awake, but no one else had woken up at 5:30 in the morning. She’d finally gotten it finished. The first song she’d composed. As she began to play, her mind started drifting.
Hopelessness is what I feel
I can’t remember when I last
Have really felt alive
My heart’s is broken right in half
My mind’s a jumbled mess
When will I finally find someone
Who can through all these walls
And reach in and touch a soul that lately
Hasn’t felt at all
This one lonely heart
This one lonely heart
Why is it because I can’t feel
We have to be apart
Oh when will I ever find the one
To heal my lonely heart
As she started the next verse, her heart began to ache a little. She still couldn’t help but feel for the Cajun she’d written this next part about.
Whenever you come close to me
I see just what the future could be
If we only could be close
If you feel the same way
That I feel for you
Then won’t you just breathe
Your love into
This one lonely heart
This one lonely heart
Why is it because I can’t feel
We have to be apart
Oh please mah love, come in
And heal mah lonely heart
You’re not afraid to be near me
You bravely draw me close
And how I finally fell in love
Only heaven knows
This one lonely heart
This one lonely heart
No longer because I can’t touch
Should we ever be apart
So come on in and love mah lonely heart
So go on ahead, heal with your love
My one lonely heart
As Rogue’s voice trailed off, she got the strange feeling that she was
being watched. She set her instrument on the ground and got up to see what it
was. Just as she had gotten up, None other than her new muse came out of the
shadows to meet her. “Love the song, chere. Your voice sounds beautiful.”
He said as he moved closer to her. “What’re ya doin’ here,
Remy?” She asked as she stared into his red and black eyes. “Jus’
came by t see you.” He replied. “Is that a crime?” “It
could be if Logan finds ya here.” She replied. “Why do ya keep sneakin’
‘round here?” “I jus’ wonted ‘t make sure you’re
doin’ all righ’. Can’t I do that fo’ my girl?”
Remy answered. “Your girl? Ya mean ya actually like meh?” Rogue
asked in shock. “I don’ jus’ like ‘y, Cherie, I love
you.” “Oh, Remy! I, I love you too.” Rogue said quietly. “Ah
don’t know why, but Ah do.” “Why bother with tha details?
We’re in love aren’t we?” He said smoothly. “Yes, we
are. Ah guess that’s all that really matters.” Rogue said. “Not
even Logan is gonna keep meh from you, Cherie.” Remy said boldly. “Ya
might wanna rethink that, Remy. Ah think Logan’s getting up.” Rogue
retorted. “Ya might wont ta leave before ya get caught and haf ta find
out why ev’ryone’s scared of ‘im.” “Fine, I’ll
go. Just promise me we c’n talk mo’ of’en.” He said.
“Fine, Sugar. How ‘bout Friday nigh’?” She replied.
“It’s a date. Goodbye Rogue!” He said as he leaned in towards
her, and, to Rogue’s great surprise, kissed her without any ill effects.
“Goodbye Remy!” Rogue said as he walked to the fence and jumped
over it. “Mah hero’s a thief in a trench coat. How romantic.”
She said as he drove off on his bike. After that, she walked back to her spot,
picked up her guitar and headed inside to the inevitable lecture from the professor,
but somehow could have cared less. “Ah’ve actually got a boyfriend.”
She mumbled as she went through the front door.
